Sola

I am never alone anymore - that's what happens when you are a mom.
Yes, I am alone sometimes, when I go swimming, or when I go to the grocery store really quick ...but alone, alone like today never.
And it feels GOOD !
The house is so quiet : ahhhhhhhhhh....
Thank God for my parents who are keeping my two munchkins for two days.
I'd like to write that I did all these great things today but just having the time to work and blog a bit ...is plenty enough.  I am having a great day in my PJs. And I have a great night planned too...

too funny - just had to post it !

A day with Mateo

My mom took Luca for a day and I spent my whole day with Matti.
We had a great time...
It was all about him : He did not have to nap and he did not have to eat his fruits and vegetables...

-We just HAD to go to the photobooth! Very good session as you can see.
-We had icecream.
-We painted. I LOVE what he did! The beautifully drawn car is Mommy of course.
-Playdough time.
-We also went to the water front to see the boats.
- He got a present from Oma : more cars!
-And the camper! I wanted us to sleep in the camper but that did not work out. By the time, we were finished with story time, he said :" Maman, je ne veux pas coucher ici, je veux aller dans ma chambre !"
Eh bien...
(Mommy slept there anyway and had a back ache the next morning because of the very hard mattress and a stiff neck probably because of the cooler weather.)

My new headboard !

Very happy with the result. Thanks for the tip Jojo...
I still have to change to room a bit but still not clear what I want to do...
New curtains?
New bedside lamps?
New paint?
New carpet?
Maybe all of the above?
:0)

Tips for dressing boys

  1. Look towards mens fashion for ideas. Right now I’m seeing a lot of men wear V-neck t-shirts and cut off shorts. Perfect for toddler boys too, right? You can find v-neck shirts here and cut-off shorts here
  2. Accept hand me down clothes from friends, but edit. I was once the lucky winner of 3 garbage bags of used clothes from a generous neighbor. The clothes were clean, lightly used, but the fit wasn’t quit right.  I kept a few pieces and shamelessly donated most of it to charity.
  3. Buy gender neutral clothes in girls department. A lot of times boys clothes are too baggy. I swear by the girl jeans from H&Mthese girl shorts from Crazy 8, and these pants from Target (trust me on this one).
  4. Repeat Repeat Repeat outfits. It’s green, it European, it makes your life easier. My boys repeat the same outfit for days until it fails the smell inspection and until the stains are large enough to be spotted on camera.
  5. Splurge Once! Buy a piece of clothing you know is totally over priced but you love it. I bought these light sweaters for my boys for spring. This summer’s spurge: these shorts
  6. Look in unexpected placesCVS Pharmacy has really cool sunglasses for boys this summer.
  7. SUSPENDERS! Everyday!
